This project focuses on the waste crisis affecting us, in this case I have focused on repurposing of used coffee grounds that are generally just thrown straight into the trash. This project required a lot of research and creativity in order to find a solution to this waste problem. Fertile Ground is a solution to the problem of waste. The purpose is to collect used coffee grounds from restaurants and coffee shops and turn them into fertilizer. Used coffee grounds have nutrients that benefit plants, and help reduce waste. The website is designed to provide information to people who want to learn more about Fertile Ground and allow them to purchase the end product. The mobile app is designed for the use restaurants, coffee shops and business owners to register and schedule date and time of pick up of the containers that are filled with used coffee grounds.
